Join the Grafton County Conservation District and community partners on Friday, October 24th from 1-3pm for a rotational grazing workshop at Mill Brook Farm in Landaff.
Graze a bit of knowledge with Harry McGovern, one of our 2025 Climate Resilience Grant’s award recipients and Supervisor on the Grafton County Conservation District. We will be highlighting Harry’s Climate Resilience grant projects: rotational grazing and fencing, and transport harrow, as well as his new water line installation and the challenges in maintaining his herd in the midst of a drought. See up-close how Harry utilizes an extensive fencing system and reseeding to maximize the soil health in each individual paddock, while minimizing erosion. We will not only learn about current conservation practices, but also Harry’s future plans, with input from local grazing experts Bill Fosher and Judith Falk.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to lsokoloski@graftoncountynh.gov and let us know if you have questions. We hope that you are able to join us!
The NH Conservation Districts Climate Resilience Grant seeks to support farmers in meeting climate change associated challenges. Direct grants enable farms to invest in on-farm infrastructure, equipment, and innovative practices that support farm profitability and the long-term viability for NH’s agricultural sector.
This program is made possible through support from the You Have Our Trust Fund, the NH Charitable Foundation, the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program through the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food, and the generosity of community members.
