We offer a variety of plants native and naturalized to New Hampshire. Plants native to our area are adapted to growing in our region’s soils and climate, requiring less maintenance (such as watering and fertilizing) than many introduced plants. Most of our plants are bare-root, meaning they were harvested at the plant nursery when the plants were dormant and will ready for planting when you pick them up. Bareroot plants are affordable, hardy, have well-developed roots, and are easy to handle, transport, and plant.
Volunteer with the GCCD: If you enjoy plants and would like to dabble in something new—volunteer with the GCCD this spring as a Plant Sale Volunteer! We appreciate your help sorting and packaging plants, or assisting at the sale itself, between April 15-25th. Your help is valuable in providing conservation plants across Grafton County, while supporting GCCD programming. Our Plant Sale Volunteers help to ensure all orders are filled out correctly, while getting a unique behind-the-scenes look at the sale. To learn more about volunteering at the plant sale or other volunteer opportunities with the Conservation District, contact Laura Sokoloski at (603) 787-6973 or lsokoloski@graftoncountynh.gov
